Nova Products Environmental Division

Under Peninsula Plastics Ltd (est. 1976). Nova Products environmental division launched in 2010 with the development of a new curbside recycle bin design. As Nova’s introductory product into the waste and recycling industry the design needed to embody what residents, collection operators and government agencies all required. Using these concepts, the environmental division designed and began manufacturing a 16 and a 22 Gallon Recycle Bin for curbside collection programs. Both designs boasted larger, rounder handles for ease of use, reinforced areas for increased durability and identical opening dimensions so they can be further customized for municipal programs. To compliment the two new bins, Nova began to design a line of lids to transform the recycle bins into a storage container, indoor recycle station or to keep recyclables contained on windy days and prevent roadside litter. The lids were designed to be the easiest to securely attach to the bin and also be the quickest to remove at the curb during collection. Nova now carries the largest variety of lids, giving these recycle bins limitless possibilities in diversion programs from curbside collection to recycling stations at schools and in workplaces or as household hazardous waste collection containers. After the success of Nova’s recycling bins and custom lid program, the environmental division went on to develop two collection containers for food and organic waste. In 2014, Nova launched a 2 Gallon Kitchen Food Waste Bin and a 13 Gallon Curbside Organics Collection Bin. Following the same design principles, both containers boast easy to use and easy to clean designs with reinforced areas made of durable materials and several other available customizations. Newest additions include our 32 Gallon Round Titan Bin, our 7 Gallon Mini Organics Bin, and our 6 Gallon Stackable Bin. With each product development Nova works toward a solution to common problems encountered in waste diversion programs by developing
