Novak Lab

The Novak Lab at the University of Michigan-Dearborn was founded in 2023 to focus on research and development in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The lab engages in applied research that combines both engineering and life sciences, working on projects such as Decellularized Lung ECM, Sex as a Biological Variable, 3D Bioreactors for Physiological Mechanical Stimulation, and Mechanical Compression to Enhance Bone Healing. Our lab seeks individuals who thrive in true multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, with a strong foundation in cutting-edge technology and a clear understanding of the intricate challenges associated with lung research. Our research team comprises mechanical engineers, bioengineers, and biologists collaborating on various projects aimed at addressing issues related to fibrosis and cancer.
