New Opportunities for Women - NOW

CREATING FUTURE LEADERS NOW – New Opportunities for Women is a transnational network from the UK, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, France, Spain, Iceland and Portugal providing mentorship and support to immigrant women. In 2017, women were 52% of new immigrants in Europe. Once they arrive, they are often marginalized and face significant challenges. They receive lower pay for their work than men and are underrepresented across the continent. We can no longer afford to lose the wealth of experience and knowledge that immigrant women bring with them to Europe. NOW connects immigrant women to role models, mentors and mentoring circles, and provides engaged training sessions for building leadership competences. Let’s leaders for a better Europe tomorrow! BUILDING BRIDGES Organizations in seven countries across Europe have come together to create a new network dedicated to raising the voices of immigrant women in Europe. NOW – New Opportunities for Women is a transnational network connecting the UK, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, France, Spain, Iceland and Portugal, aiming to empower immigrant women through mentorship and training. The network is run by Evolve Global Solutions Ltd in the UK, CSI Center for Social Innovation in Cyprus, Future in Perspective in Ireland, IASIS in Greece, ITG Conseil in France, Instituto para el Fomento del Desarrollo y la Formación in Spain, the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association in Iceland and Mindshift Talent Advisory Ida in Portugal. The network was formally founded in Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK on October 22nd 2019, at a meeting attended by representatives from all eight countries. “I am excited to bring together our eight organizations. All partners are strong advocates for justice, and together we will create leaders for the future”, says Afshan Baksh, project leader of NOW – New Opportunities for Women.
