No Waste Chair

The No Waste Chair uses that which has been written off and which no longer serves a purpose. The content is a reflection of the place where it was found and captures the zeitgeist of the 21st century. The chair is raw, confrontational and forces you to think about the problem called 'waste' - a global social issue. Waste is an eye-catcher in the park or on the beach and unfortunately it is almost impossible to imagine the street and nature without it. The No Waste Chair invites you to see the waste in a different light and consider the system which produces it. With this project, Kees Dekkers tries to give the seemingly worthless waste new value by using it as a raw material for his chairs. The casing is made of 100% recycled acrylic and serves as a display for the content. This puts the waste and its original owner in the spotlight and stimulates awareness and behavioral change. After all, real change starts with you.
