NP-bioTech is a biotechnology product using a multipatented catalyst-based aerobic advanced material adsorbed onto an inert substrate (Catalytic Substrate, CatSub)for accelerated fermentation of critical and problematic biomass (e.g., citrus pulp or sewage sludge). NP-bioTech is defined by its inventor Fabrizio Nardo as a Rapid Catalytic Composting Process (RCCP). As RCCP, NP-bioTech is the best-in-class in-between available commercial composting processes.
The product of the NP-bioTech process is a biostabilized and pasteurized product with excellent agronomic properties. After a few days of RCCP, the resulting biomass is perfectly biostabilized. The CatSub can be separated and re-circulated, while the biostabilized product can be packaged and marketed as a biofertilizer, in accordance with EU Regulation 2019/1009 for CE-labeled fertilizers.
The NP-bioTech process provides energy savings of even more than 95 percent compared to technologies available on the market today and lower operating costs.
