About NSCSTI - National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions | Capacity Building Commission
Mission Karmayogi, a prestigious initiative launched by the Government of India in September 2020, serves as a National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB). Its primary objective is to equip Indian civil servants with the necessary skills and qualities to thrive in the future. This includes fostering creativity, proactivity, professionalism, energy, transparency, and technological proficiency. At the heart of NPCSCB lies the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), which defines capacity building as a transformative process that enhances the abilities, talents, competencies, efficiencies, and qualifications of individuals, organizations, and institutions. By doing so, it strengthens the execution capacity of the state and facilitates the achievement of common national goals. CBC, in fulfilling its mandate, focuses on harmonizing and standardizing the civil-service training ecosystem across the country. To this end, the Commission has developed the National Standards for Civil Service Training Institutions (NSCSTI). These standards, meticulously crafted through extensive research of global and national best practices, as well as consultations with esteemed knowledge partners, consist of eight strategic pillars. These pillars encompass Training Needs Assessment, Faculty Development, Resource & Training Targets, Trainee Support, Digitalization, Collaboration, Training Evaluation, and Operations & Governance. By adhering to these standards, training institutions can aspire towards excellence and establish themselves as world-class institutions with a culture of cross-learning. To ensure the quality and credibility, the Commission has empanelled two agencies for Assessment & Accreditation: the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), a constituent Board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), and the Indian Centre for Academic Rankings & Excellence (ICARE).
