The CGD Laboratory has a mission to discover the key processes in each component of the Earth system and the interactions among them; represent this understanding in models and thereby provide a basis for the prediction of the Earth system; and apply this understanding and these models to scientific problems of societal relevance.
We fulfill our mission through a strong record of achievement in scientific research, community modeling, and data set development.
Our success is due to numerous collaborations with other NCAR Laboratories, the university community, Government Laboratories, and private industry.
