A PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) certified Master Freediver Instructor trainer, Bassel successfully established and ran a Diving Training School in Dubai and trained and certified hundreds of students in Freediving before founding Neptune Submerge.

Bassel identified the potential for cutting-edge technologies, including VR, AR, and AI, in conjunction with his expertise and experience to revolutionize underwater training safety for both instructor and student.
He also recognized the potential for the resulting immersive technology used to create dive training simulators to integrate with and promote the importance of environmental awareness education and marine preservation.

Collaborations with the Centre of Digital Innovation, Sustainable Innovation, and leading Universities and technology firms have enhanced Neptune Submerge's immersive underwater experiences.
These also established Bassel as a leader in bridging the gap between human experience, and the natural world and protecting underwater ecosystems by combining immersive technology with marine conservation, environmental education, oceanography, and marine biology studies.
