Welcome to the Neural Tissue Electrode Interface and Neural Tissue Engineering in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Our primary research area is neural engineering, particularly on implantable materials and devices for neural recording and modulation, chemical sensing and on demand drug delivery in the nervous system. One one hand we strive to gain fundamental understanding of neural tissue-device interaction; on the other hand we design advanced materials and novel devices for seamless tissue integration.
