Nuevo Tango Arts is built on 4 generations of tango legacy, 40 years of performance experience and 20 years of producing award winning productions that combine music, dance, visual art, cinema, poetry, and education. We offer a wide range of tango groups and touring project from duos and trios to large multidisciplinary productions and an annual celebration of the tango culture - PIAZZOLLA100: The New York Tango Festival.
Our mission is to innovate across all performing arts disciplines by preserving the legacy and advancing the evolution of tango and its relationship with jazz, classical, and world genres, while uniting people globally through art and culture.
Artistic Director, Leonardo Suarez-Paz, billed by the press as “tango royalty” (All About Jazz, UK), is a Buenos Aires native who carries 100-year tango legacy. A multidisciplinary artist who works across tango, classical and jazz genres, Leonardo is a Latin GRAMMY AWARD nominee and mentored by the revolutionary composer Astor Piazzolla -the namesake of our touring project and festival PIAZZOLLA100.
