The association was founded in 1985, named as Nagoya University Foreign Student Association. The name has since been changed to Nagoya University International Student Organization. However, the abbreviation has stayed NUFSA.
The main objective of NUFSA is to promote and enhance international awareness, cooperation, cultural diversity and dialogue among international students,and between international students and Japanese students.
NUFSA collaborates with several other associations and organizes events for international students, thus offering a platform for making international friends and supporting the cultural exchange.
