About Nuclear Utility Obsolescence Group

NUOG's Mission is to create an environment to mutually reduce the impact of obsolescence by identifying beneficial strategic and tactical business practices which may be institutionalized by utilities and suppliers. To create an environment where nuclear utilities and suppliers can mutually identify obsolete items and potential replacements; provide participants with tools that assist in preventing, identifying, prioritizing, and solving obsolescence issues to reduce station risk and vulnerabilities associated with Equipment Reliability. To achieve and maintain a high level of plant operational performance; we must use industry best practices and leverage other Industry Working Groups. Response to obsolescence challenges is provided collaboratively by sharing technical expertise, resources, and operating experience across the industry. We seek out opportunities to work together on initiatives that provide mutual benefit. To align with supplier partners and achieve economies of scale, promote consistency, and to implement best practices. We build on the competence and experience of our suppliers through goal alignment and partnering activities.
