Nurses SHIFT Change, a grassroots coalition of nurses united by a shared vision:
1. To mobilize one million nurses in Washington, DC, and
2. To rally around core values of Humanity, Ethics, Social Justice, and Science (HESS).
Our first major initiative is the Report for Duty Rally, scheduled for May 24, 2025, taking place both nationwide and in Washington, DC. This date marks the 75th anniversary of the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and we see it as a pivotal moment for our profession to advocate for impactful health policy and to reaffirm our leadership in shaping the future of nursing and healthcare.
The rally will center around three essential pillars:
• Protecting access to Medicaid and Medicare for all
• Strengthening primary, preventive care, and promoting a healthy environment
• Building a healthcare workforce that is safe, supported, and representative of the communities we serve
