How our journey began. The story of Nusnatara started with a group of four friends each from different corners of the world who noticed that there was a lack of Indonesian speciaility coffee being served in local and international coffee shops. They decided this was an opportunity to make a difference by introducing the unique tastes of Indonesian coffee to the world. One week later they traveled to Indonesia to visit local coffee farmers to offer a partnership where they would purchase green coffee direct and offer an additional percentage back for every gram of coffee sold as part of a social responsibility. During the trip they visited every region and selected farmers to be apart of the Nusantara journey with a goal to offer 60 different origins of Indonesian coffee . A mutual respect was built and trust was developed with each farmer that could not be obtained through other trade methods: the result of this relationship is our access to the highest grade speciality coffees. Because we travel to meet our farmers we learn about their growing practices, their worries & ambitions, we feel that we are a part of their lives and livelihood. The Team behind it all !! The Logo, The Nusantara logo may seem simple but it has a strong message built behind it. As the four friends were sitting scratching their heads they ordered a coffee which came a little full, when they lifted the cup to clean the bottom on the napkin below was a stain in the shape of a letter N in Arabic from that moment they decided this would be the logo as it represents a stain which can always be remembered just as the unique tastes of Indonesian coffee. The Name Nusantara is an ancient Javanese term which literally means "outer islands" which depicts our goal of offering coffee from each island of Indonesia.
