Daar is het de NVFS, daar is het de sportfysiotherapie, daar is het elke NVFS sportfysiotherapeut om te doen: return to play.
Elke patiënt zo snel, zo verantwoord, dus zo optimaal mogelijk weer helemaal terug brengen, terug krijgen op niveau.
De NVFS, de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Fysiotherapie in de Sportgezondheidszorg, is de beroepsorganisatie voor fysiotherapeuten werkzaam in de sport. Ze is opgericht in 1981 en maakt deel uit van het Koninklijk Nederlands Genootschap voor Fysiotherapie (KNGF).
Historie
De NVFS komt voort uit een werkgroep van fysiotherapeuten die veel sportblessures behandelden en veel deden aan deskundigheidsbevordering. Toen deze werkgroep in 1981 ruim 150 leden telde, werd besloten tot de oprichting van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Fysiotherapie in de Sportgezondheidszorg. Dit om structureel de belangen van deze groep fysiotherapeuten te behartigen en te werken aan kwaliteitsbevordering.
Vanuit eerst cursussen van de Nederlandse Sport Federatie op Papendal, via een tweejarige post HBO opleiding en verplichte na- en bijscholingen van sportfysiotherapeuten, is de opleiding nu een volwaardige 3 jarige post-HBO Masteropleiding Sportfysiotherapie (MOS).
De NVFS is een erkende beroepsinhoudelijke vereniging met een eigen deelregister in het Centraal Kwaliteitsregister en een eigen beroepsprofiel.
