De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Medische Oncologie (NVMO) is op 20 oktober 1997 opgericht vanwege de behoefte aan een specifieke vereniging voor internist-oncologen. De NVMO heeft ten doel de kwaliteit van de medische oncologie – in al haar facetten – te bevorderen. De vereniging streeft daarbij naar optimale beschikbaarheid en toegankelijkheid van zorg.
