About Nevada Women's Leadership Alliance
Through mentorship, advocacy training, networking opportunities, education and leadership development programs, we will inspire women to become the strong leaders we need, improving their communities and positively shaping Nevada’s future. Who are we Looking For? NWLA will recruit future leaders who are interested in being the change their communities need. We’re looking for women of any age who want common sense economic development, smaller and wiser government, and have the drive and desire to improve their communities, but might not know how. We are also looking to improve the skills for those who are already working to achieve change and would like to get better at what they do. What Will we Teach? As we build relationships and mentor women, we'll empower them with new skills or improve skills they already have with a variety of programs including process education, leadership development, advocacy training, campaign management, web & social media marketing, Meeting management, issue analysis and more. Why is NWLA Needed? One third of Nevada's electorate are registered non-partisan. Some, especially women, actually care deeply about specific issues but aren't interested in political parties. With no attractive avenue for them to be personally involved, they remain unengaged. NWLA aims to help these women find a safe channel to grow, learn, and achieve change in their own backyards. Our training programs will help them find their voice and become part of a team as they grow into effective future leaders. Outside of a university or corporate training program, leadership training and process education is almost non-existent. Working women and mothers at home who value reasonable economic development, fiscal accountability, efficient government, and quality schools lack opportunities to learn effective advocacy techniques and build leadership skills. NWLA's education programs will fill these gaps with pride as we empower women who share our values.
