Northwest HVAC/R Association & Training Center

The Northwest HVAC/R Association was originally formed in 1962 by the contractors and Washington Water Power Company. Today, we are the leading membership organization representing HVAC/R contractors, businesses and maintenance departments in the Northwest. The Training Center was established in 1991 with the goal of training and updating the skills of technicians currently in the industry. In 1995, the first student was awarded a Certificate of Completion after completion of the required courses and thereafter the accreditation application process commenced. Accreditation was awarded in 2000 through the Council of Occupational Education. Currently, we train a maximum of 50 students per year in our 9-month Service Technician Training Program, and have maintained a 100% placement for graduates seeking positions. In addition, we offer continuing education courses for those in the industry, most classes are recognized by L&I as electrical CEUs. Mission Statement: The Northwest Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Training Center provides quality education and training, thus promoting the highest standards of workmanship, and facilitating the enforcement of applicable codes and standards of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry. It shall be the purpose of this organization to provide well-rounded education and training to improve the quality of installation and service in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry, to gather and disseminate information and ideas on technical and current issues in the workplace, and to monitor and provide technical input into industry regulations and business activities.
