NXTGENWOOD

Our work centres on the development of an Irish research network that will launch high value wood and wood-derived products into the market, generate innovation and unique wood materials/biochemicals and develop a highly trained work force that foster the uptake of emerging technologies, support industry and contribute to Ireland’s sustainability targets. Our research will create a new technologies in structural timbers, green adhesives and resins for bonded wood products, examine the extraction and synthesis of valuable bio-materials and biochemicals and develop wood-based composites and bio polymers. We are funded by DAFM (www.agriculture.ie) and supported by Science Foundation Ireland.
