The New York Cardiological Society, the oldest cardiological organization in the United States (est. 1928), and the New York State Chapter merged in the 1990s to become what is today the second largest regional trade association dedicated to the cardiological profession. The New York State Chapter functions, in consultation with the leadership of the American College of Cardiology, as an advisor to local and state governmental and professional organizations concerning issues related to cardiovascular disease and heart health.
