NZCare Disability has more than 20 years experience in providing high quality, personalised support to people with disabilities (including people with intellectual and physical disabilities, Huntington’s disease and Autism Spectrum Disorder) and their family/whānau. Our aim is for everyone we support to live a life like any other New Zealander and to promote their individual choices, needs, values and goals. NZCare Disability owns and operates more than 120 residential homes throughout the country, supporting people with disabilities to maximise their independence in a supported environment. A key focus of our residential service is to support people to be a part of their local community, to keep in touch with their family and friends, and to do the things they enjoy. If you choose one of our homes for someone you support or advocate for, our well-trained team will support them to get to know their flatmates, go about their daily activities and be a part of the running of the home. If your choose to live in your own home, NZCare Disability will support them to live as independently as possible. This may involve helping them to find and set up the flat, to budget their money, and to manage daily routines and personal support needs. To support any specific wishes or needs, the NZCare Disability team will work with the person and their family/whānau or advocate, to create an individual service plan that will promote their quality of life, wellbeing and independence.
