O’Connell Quarries is a family owned and operated business. In 1978 Bobby O’Connell began excavating shale from the 57 acre site in Ballycar, Ardnacrusha for the growing building industry in the Limerick and Clare area. A number of years later he purchased a crushing plant, providing the local commercial and domestic market with crushed stone.

Currently the business is managed by Bobby’s sons Richard and Robert. They have been part of the business from a very young age and have gained valuable experience in the quarry and concrete industry down through the years.
