Who We Are: The Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital (OAESH) is the first hospital of its kind; a veterinarian-owned, 24-hour emergency and specialty facility serving Ottawa, Gatineau, and the surrounding area. We welcome emergency transfers and walk-in patients from any clinic in the region. Our state-of-the-art facility is centrally located in Ottawa just off Highway 417 at Vanier Parkway. Our Philosophy The Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital staff are proud to provide our clients with 24-hour emergency and specialty services where they feel “at home,” like they are at their own clinic. The employees, with the support of their members and founders, have nurtured this environment based on compassion and caring for veterinary patients, their owners, and their referring veterinarian. Our Facility We have a fully-equipped emergency vet and intensive care facility, capable of dealing with critically injured or ill dogs, cats, exotics (including birds and reptiles) and pocket pets. The spacious over 15,000-square-foot hospital features the following: • A large, comfortable waiting room with refreshments with separate areas for cats and dogs. • Television and free wi-fi • A full surgical suite with state-of-the art anesthetic and monitoring equipment • Intensive care housing, including a special cage for animals needing supplemental oxygen • Digital x-ray • Ultrasound • An incubator for sick birds • A quiet room for patient visits, including end-of-life visits • Ample well-lit parking right in front of the clinic, with stair and ramp access Our Specialties: We also offer state of the art specialty services for your companions, with an exceptional team of international and national specialists.
