Alpharetta based portrait photographer, Geoff Ekstrom, has been honing his skills in photography since 1983. Originally starting out with photography as a career in mind he was diverted into corporate sales to support a growing family. Life has brought him full circle and with a renewed passion for creating portraits in a very contemporary style with an emphasis on bringing out each subjects true character. Geoff has blended his ability to connect with people and build trust with his desire to create lasting heirloom style portraits of people. His goal is to make the process of making an image of each subject a low stress experience with as much dialogue as possible to bring out his subjects’ true self. Most people don’t have the ability to see themselves the way others see them. Even our reflection in the mirror is not the way others see us. The expressions we make when we are communicating with others are unfamiliar to us because we never see them. Geoff feels strongly that it is his job as a portrait photographer to capture “the face we never see” which is our self. This can be a very powerful moment for people.
