The Greater Manchester Navigator Project supports young people aged 10–25 who have been impacted by violence. The service helps them recover, access local support, and reduce the risk of further harm.
Launched in May 2021, the project began in four hospital emergency departments and has since expanded to include Wythenshawe Hospital, referrals from the North West Ambulance Service, and community referrals.
Navigators provide confidential, independent support at key moments, whether or not an incident has been reported to the police. Building trust is central to the approach, helping young people engage with services that can make a difference.
Commissioned by the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit and delivered by Oasis UK, the project has received over 1,000 referrals, with a high rate of engagement from young people.
