Obivit started out as a local video production company in Bergen. Meetings were booked via traditional cold calling, and in the long run we had to ask ourselves: "What makes our service unique or different from any other video production company?" and "What does it take to stand out and be noticed by the prospect?" "What separates us from the 10 other sales people calling the same prospect for a meeting?" Just like Neo in the Matrix, we realized that asking the right question could drive us in the right direction. We had to try a new approach - and we decided that tailored videos could work, and thus distinguish ourselves from the 10 cold calling competitors - in a positive way! And it worked! Suddenly we started to get meetings, and we thought we would get in position to sell more company presentation videos or product videos. But we were wrong. The clients we met in our meetings asked for something else. They said: "We want to have a video like the one you sent me! It worked - I said yes to a meeting - now I want to do the same as you!" The groundbraking work performed by Obivit laid the foundation for a new way of interacting on a personal level with each individual in an audience, as we invested large amounts of money in developing systems to automate the rendering of unique personalized videos.
