About Observatory for Mathematical Education

The Observatory's research programme supports the improvement of mathematical education and brings long-term benefits for individuals and society. It includes the first dedicated maths education ‘data lab’ to analyse national trends of participation and achievement, and is conducting the largest ever longitudinal study on maths education in England involving 50,000 students in hundreds of schools and dozens of universities to generate transformative knowledge of the maths education system.
