Obsidian ATX

Through art and empowering one another, we can express ourselves with authenticity and create a communicty that uplifts the beautiful aspects of Blackness. We seek liberation from limited narratives, societal expectations, and barriers on our creativity. Obsidian Magazine is by Black Creatives for Black Creatives. We will amplify Black voices and uplift the Black community of Austin by giving our people a platform to create unfiltered content that highlights Black life. We will highlight Black businesses and artists, transform Black stories into art, and connect with one another with love for an authentic expression of self. Every event or publishing will have a theme relating to Black life as it relates to our experiences. We want to hear your stories and exhibit the unique, varied, and beautiful aspects of how you experience personhood.
