OCCA Communities Association is a non-profit umbrella organization formed by a partnership of several multicultural communities in the Central Okanagan. Our mission is to promote mutual understanding, respect, acceptance, and harmony among diverse communities in the Central Okanagan. We offer services that are open to everyone. Our goal is to ensure the full participation of immigrants from all backgrounds in Canada’s social, cultural, and economic life.
OCCA provides the following services to the Central Okanagan area:
• Immigrant settlement: ESL classes, information sessions and workshops, tax filing help, Immigrant skills training, work placement, helpline providing one-on-one consultation including anti-racism, mental health and legal assistance.
• Afterschool program: Supporting children mainly from immigrant families, also covering non-immigrant families, with BC Child Care license https://occachildcare.ca/.
• Golden age: Helping the immigrant seniors out of isolation.
• Community connections through diverse activities and multicultural events.
