Ocean Stream

Ocean Stream is an NGO that aims to preserve marine life through the broad spread of environmental communication using cutting edge technology to bring the Ocean into everyone’s daily life. Using an underwater camera to record live the marine seascape and life, we are capturing the present moment of the Ocean to stream it instantly to any digital screen available. That can be a TV, a computer, or even a smartphone. This way, no matter where and how capable one is to be able to access the underwater world. One can see it and hear it through a screen that is already present in one’s daily life at school, at work, at home, in one’s favorite museum or even restaurant. Doing so, we connect the world above with the world below so that one can think of the 70% of the Earth while being on the 30% left. And therefore, a long-lasting relationship can be built between living creatures of the two worlds. Humans can see the beauty and fragility of those who live below, and marine creatures can benefit from the attention and protection that caring, sensible, and conscious persons can provide for the marine environment. Therefore, we develop a tool that not only gives to everyone access to our natural underwater heritage without diving, but also that brings this heritage into everyone’s daily life in order to generate the long-term relationship and interaction needed to preserve it. Thanks to our new type of digital tourism we can regenerate the natural underwater heritage by connecting ecosystems, conservation actors and people. Ocean Stream est une Association Française de loi 1901 fondée le 1er mai 2018 en réaction à la destruction massive des récifs coralliens causée par la vague de chaleur extrême allant de 2015 à 2017. Son but est de créer un nouvel outil de communication environnementale permettant à la fois de sensibiliser le public aux enjeux actuels des écosystèmes marins et simultanément, de générer des fonds pour soutenir des projets de conservation marine durables.
