Oceanus Environmental

Hello and welcome to Oceanus Environmental. This consultancy is directed by me, a Marine scientist, Emily Joy Frost, under the firm belief that knowledge is not a privilege, but is a right for everyone to have. I have been researching in the area of climate change, science policy, marine biology and environmental/comparative physiology, ecology and molecular biology for quite a few years. I have fulfilled many positions, such as in academia and local/central government, including undertaking my PhD, as well as NGO positions during this period which have all focused on different aspects of climate change impacts and responses, climate change mitigation in the marine environment, science policy, conservation, physiology, ecology, and molecular biology. In addition to my considerable experience in research, I am also an active member of the broader scientific community, including, being a scientific policy author for the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). A member of the New Zealand Ocean Acidification Research Group, the Otago Institute for Arts and Science (a branch of The Royal Society of New Zealand), International Graduate Scholar for the Fifth International Conference on Climate Change, and the International Council for Science: Auckland, 2014 – General Assembly. In addition, I have also attended the 2017 United Nations Oceans Conference in my capacity as the Head Delegate for the Aotearoa Youth Leadership Initiative Delegation (AYLI).
