Establishment and operation of the Oncological Clinical Research Support Centre at the Alfreds Sokolowski's Specialist Hospital in Wałbrzych is to support effective and efficient management of the clinical trial process while increasing the number of clinical trials, both commercial and non-commercial. The primary goal of OCRSC is to increase the health safety of patients who receive access to modern, innovative therapies used in oncological treatment. The Centre operates as a functionally and organizationally separate unit in the organizational structure of the Hospital, with specialized research infrastructure and scientific and medical staff adapted to its needs.
The OCRSC project is financed from the state budget by the Medical Research Agency as part of the competition entitled Creation and development of Oncology Clinical Research Support Centers No. ABM/2021/6. The value of the funding was PLN 6,156,753.75. The implementation period is 03/2022 – 02/2027.
OCRSC supports also clinical trials outside of oncology.
