OcuDel was set up as a spinout from Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and is the culmination of 6 years of research carried out by Dr Fitzhenry and his team in WIT.
Since 2012, Dr. Fitzhenry has led a research group in ocular drug delivery in WIT, securing funding of approximately €5.5 million for his work in this area. He is the coordinator and consortium leader of a €4 million MSCA-ETN project (ORBITAL) consisting of 24 international partners focusing on ocular drug delivery.
At present Ocudel is focused on the development of its proprietary Dry Eye Disease (“DED”) eye drop treatment for the animal health market.
