The Association of Brokers and Yacht Agents (ABYA) is an association that represents professional yacht brokers, dealers and also new boat salespeople. ABYA members must have demonstrated knowledge and application of the necessary legal, financial and tax documentation required to pass on a good legal title when buying a vessel to become a member. ABYA provides ongoing training and monitors the continual professional development of its members to ensure that they are up to date on key areas such as marketing, anti-money laundering, the Recreational Craft Directive, Sale of Goods Acts, contract law, health and safety and the VAT Status of vessels. Your ABYA Broker will provide a turnkey solution to help you sell your boat or help you find your ideal boat that matches your requirements as close as possible to your requirements. ABYA has almost 200 members in the UK and abroad and they variously specialise in new and second-hand boats from day boats to large yachts and also commercial craft such as workboats and RIBs. Many have attended the ABYA Professional Yacht Brokerage course and members keep their knowledge up to date by undertaking Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
