Established in 1996 to support and maintain Oglebay and Wheeling Park, the most incredible parks in the world, the Oglebay Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in Wheeling, WV.
Wheeling Park became a reality in 1925 after 170 citizens stepped up to fund the purchase of 130 acres. The next year, Earl Oglebay made an estate gift of his beloved 750-acre Waddington Farm to the city of Wheeling. The city accepted Oglebay’s gift in 1928.
Today the two parks cover more than 2,200 acres, host the annual Festival of Lights, Oglebayfest, live music all summer long, and more – making them the top West Virginia tourist destination.
