INTERCOTON a été créée le 22 novembre 2000 selon les dispositions de la loi n° 60-315 du 21 septembre 1960 et restructurée le 18 décembre 2013 conformément à de l’Ordonnance n°2011-473 du 21 décembre 2011 relative aux Organisations Interprofessionnelles Agricoles (OIA)
Elle est aujourd’hui régie par le décret N° 2014-514 du 15 septembre 2014 portant reconnaissance de l’Organisation Interprofessionnelle Agricole de la filière coton de Côte d’Ivoire. Notre OIA a été la première à être reconnue comme telle par les autorités ivoiriennes conformément aux dispositions en vigueur.
Treize (13) Administrateurs issus de ses trois (03) collèges constituent son Conseil d’Administration, à savoir :
Le Collège des Producteurs représenté par la Fédération des Producteurs de Coton de Côte d’Ivoire ( FPC-CI) ;
Le Collège des Egreneurs représenté par l’Association Professionnelles des Sociétés Cotonnières de Côte d’Ivoire ( APROCOT-CI) ;
Le Collège des 2ème & 3ème Transformateurs représenté par l’Association des Triturateurs de Côte d’Ivoire (ATCI) et l’Association Professionnelle des industries Textiles.
Par ailleurs, un (01) Commissaire du Gouvernement désigné par la tutelle, le Ministère de l’Agriculture et du Développement Rural siège au Conseil d’Administration de INTERCOTON conformément aux dispositions en vigueur.
