Oikos Uni

Earth is our home, our Oikos, Ancient Greek for whole house. Oikos Uni is born from our vision that it is possible to build an eco-based society, together, as the new normal. That we need to look at all systems (economical, ecological, educational, societal), using fresh perspectives and an integrated view. We believe that, in order to create a truly eco-based society, we need to bridge the divides between the systems first. This requires a revolutionary shift in thinking and acting, from ego (one perspective) to eco (a wholesome perspective), within our personal lives, global communities and planetary eco-systems. Pioneering the principles and personal practices that help us to perform this shift, may well be one of the most important undertakings of our time, says Otto Scharmer, and we fully agree. Oikos Uni is a unique program, consisting of modules that can be followed stand-alone or together as an even more impactful journey. They can be followed as individuals as well as groups. Each module is designed to offer a deeper understanding about ourselves, the systems that we are part of and the global picture as a whole. They all focus on bridging the divides on a very practical, actionable level. We work with a so-called ‘whole systems approach’: including all different elements and systems that are related and how they influence one another within a whole. We integrated several solid proven concepts like: theory U (Otto Scharmer, MIT), 7 levels of consciousness (Richard Barret, values centre), Hidden Impact (Babette Porcelijn), SDG’s (Global Goals for Sustainable Development, UN), Biomimicry and the Natural Step. Together with you, we pave the way for eco-leadership.
