OilGene is a Skoltech based startup created with the aim to help plant breeding companies and agroholdings on a commercial basis. The aim of the startup is to provide genotyping of the plant collections and data analysis services for breeding companies and research institutes with the aim of scanning for potential genetic markers for the implementation of a marker-assisted selection approach. Additionally, we are working on the development of ready-to-go solutions for instant trait prediction in the field (resistance to herbicides and pathogens, fertility restoration). Our target cultures include oilseeds, namely, rapeseed, soybean, and sunflower however our approaches are scalable and could be applied to any crop culture. We are currently seeking the opportunity to collaborate with the industry and scientific institutions.
