El Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA) es una institución especializada en las áreas de salud animal, sanidad vegetal, servicios cuarentenarios e inocuidad de los alimentos. El OIRSA brinda cooperación técnica y financiera a los Ministerios y Secretarías de Agricultura y Ganadería de sus nueve Estados miembros, en la protección y desarrollo de sus recursos agropecuarios. Esto para garantizar una producción alimentaria sana y segura.
En sus siete décadas de servicio, el OIRSA ha enfrentado las amenazas que representan las plagas y enfermedades para la región, actuando con efectividad, capacidad de respuesta y sentido de anticipación, lo que le ha permitido obtener resultados significativos.
