Since 1959 the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra has enriched the lives of thousands of people and brought the power and majesty of live orchestral music to the valley. The OSO performs repertoire spanning centuries, genres and cultures. Versatile as well as highly skilled, our talented musicians are grounded and invested in our community, teaching music, mentoring our youth and performing as soloists and in ensembles throughout the valley and the province. As well as public concerts, the OSO also offers a variety of community engagement programs that aim to foster a deeper connection and appreciation of music among audiences of all ages. These include programs specifically for preschoolers and their families, elementary and middle school students, life-long learners, and the flagship of our community engagement activities, the Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra (OSYO).
