OKB 5th Generation is a Russian space company dedicated to making space accessible for the betterment of human life - from our Soviet roots through the technological present and into a prosperous future. "OKB" is the acronym in Russian for "Опытно-Конструкторское Бюро," which stands for Experimental Design Bureau. The name of our company honors the legacy of Soviet Design Bureaus, particularly "ОKB №1," which launched the world's first satellite in 1957.

In 2020, the 6U CubeSat Norby-1, designed by OKB5, was launched into orbit to test the operability of technical solutions. To date, all onboard systems are functioning nominally. In 2023, the company launched its second mission, carrying an advanced set of radio equipment and a solar coronagraph.
The cloud service GRID, developed by OKB5, enables data exchange with satellites through a network of ground stations. We are currently developing a cutting-edge system for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and the Internet of Things using small spacecraft in the CubeSat and TriSAT formats.
OKB5 is an officially accredited partner of the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
