Okono A/S is a privately held company, owned by the Bagger-Sørensen family and an associated company of the Bagger-Sørensen Group. The history of the Bagger-Sørensen Group dates back to 1915, when Holger Sørensen founded the Vejle Caramel and Tablet Factory in Vejle, Denmark. Okono was established as a separate company in 2011.
In 2015 Okono launched nordik® e-cigarettes, which soon became the best distributed e-cigarette brand in Scandinavia. In September 2018 Okono divested its investment in the e-cigarette category.
Via its subsidiary, MedCan Pharma, Okono is focused on developing products with cannabinoids.
Okono received Børsen’s Gazelle Award in 2016.
