OLD Arkitekter ApS

The architecture office, OLD, was established in 2021 by Kit Ottsen Løw & Mathias Dührkop. We have a long personal and professional relationship that started back in the early 00’s and continued at the School of Architecture, Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen – and now as partners in OLD. OLD are our initials, and not an indication that we only work with old buildings. However, we do have extensive experience in working with listed and conservation-worthy buildings, including in-depth knowledge of building traditions and techniques as well as materials. We use this knowledge and experience to a great extent in our work and compassion relating to all forms of construction. Our aim is to create timeless architecture with long-term aesthetic sustainability and quality. Respecting history, our approach is to highlight and build on inherent qualities while adding new layers. We treat the experience of the exterior and interior of buildings with the same care and know-how to create atmospheres that brings ‘soul’ to our built environment. We do not have a pre-defined architectural style in our projects - the building/space itself is the focal point and defines the direction of a given project. Sophisticated new layers and detailing make the big difference and create substance rather than noise. The goal is that our work will also be valued in 100 years from now.
