Old MacDonnell’s Farm creates original and real artisan food products - LIVE Natural yoghurt, soft cheese from cow's and goat's milk and Greek style hummus. We do not use ANY artificial additives - we never have and never will. We have been doing this the clean natural way since 1983, actually even before that, when our first goat Blossom arrived in the 70s. When Brian and Wendy MacDonnell ( our parents) first promoted the idea of "Live" food, they were told it would never work. However, nowadays it is all about 'live' , 'probiotic' and 'beneficial' food. Old MacDonnells Farm was the first to offer this in Ireland way back in 1983. People want to protect their bodies, giving themselves the best chance health wise whilst having an enjoyable great tasting product. Like all good quality producers our production methods and procedures all conform to the strictest regulations and hygiene standards. There are labs and some 'Latiny' sounding words involved- but this is just to make sure standards are maintained through product testing and to ensure the live cultures we use are correctly named. We don’t claim to be doctors or Latin word makers but science forms the base upon which we create. We are local, we are Irish and we provide local employment. We believe in good pure food and all food that leaves the gate from Old MacDonnell’s Farm, is still based on the founding principle of real food the real way - as Wendy and Brian MacDonnell originally set out to do.
