The University of Ottawa Law Students’ First Generation Network (OLSFGN) is a branch of the “First-Generation Network,” first founded at Osgoode Hall and University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.
Our mission is to alleviate the various disadvantages faced by students who are the first in their family to attend post-secondary education. We specifically target first-generation law students. The goal is to contribute to a growing network of first-generation law students and legal professionals to help alleviate the social and financial barriers this group might experience.
“First-Generation Students” are defined as students who are the first in their family to complete a post-secondary education. Specifically, they are students whose parents did not complete a post-secondary education.
