The Omega Student Managed Investment Fund is an actively managed small cap catalyst fund seeking abnormal returns via positions in ASX listed companies that present highly desirable asymmetric risk/return profiles. It offers a key opportunity for high achieving finance students to obtain real world equity research and trading experience prior to the completion of their degree. We are of the strong belief that SMIFs who take a passive approach to fund management in mid-large caps with large investment teams of 15-25 students receive negligible real world experience. For that reason, Omega SMIF holds an investment team of only 6 analysts who work alongside an advisory panel. - 4 Senior Analysts - 2 Junior Analysts This ensures that students are involved with every part of the equity research and trading process, receiving a comprehensive experience of the "bigger picture" application of their tertiary education prior to entering the finance work place.
