Omnichrome

Omnichrome Corporation was founded in 1981 in Chino, California by Dr. William Hug. Omnichrome was a leading supplier of Helium Cadmium and ion Lasers to scientific and original equipment manufacture (OEM) markets, including analytical instruments for biotechnology and medicine, graphic arts, telecommunication, and photolithography. Omnichrome also developed and marketed light-based forensic instruments for law enforcement agencies. At its peak in 1997 Omnichrome was the sixth largest laser manufacturing in the United States. Omnichrome was acquired by Melles Griot in March 1997, and all operations were moved from Chino to Carlsbad, California.
