Founded in 2007, On The Scene Training specializes in providing customized training directly to our clients, including comprehensive CPR and First Aid sessions tailored for the Tattoo and Body Piercing Industry. Our goal is to ensure that everyone—artists, staff, and clients—understands and practices safety measures to prevent Bloodborne Pathogen transmission, contributing to a safe and successful outcome for all. Effective communication is crucial, and we understand that many may not fully grasp how communicable diseases spread. Prevention is key, and a comprehensive approach is essential. How does Human Trafficking fit in with our mission? While educating myself to better inform my children about the dangers of the internet and social media, I discovered increasingly alarming threats. I realized that some dangers were hidden in plain sight, particularly the ease of connecting with unknown people worldwide. This led me to recognize the importance of educating our children about what I call "The 4th Influence." Traditionally, our children's development is shaped by three primary influences: Home, Community, and School (education). These environments directly impact their values, behaviors, and safety. However, the internet and social media introduce a powerful new influence that many of us who didn’t grow up with this technology struggle to understand. Exploring online risks, we realize how easily someone can be hurt or manipulated, with lasting impacts. This includes risks related to human trafficking, which exploits the internet's anonymity to prey on vulnerable individuals. Tattoos can play a significant role in this hidden world. In human trafficking, tattoos are sometimes used to mark and control victims. Understanding the connections between tattoos and human trafficking is essential for providing trauma-informed care.
