OncoAge is a Hospital-University Federation (FHU), awarded by AVIESAN and supported by the University Hospitals (CHU) of Nice and the University of Côte d'Azur (UCA). It is a trans-disciplinary network involved in healthcare and working on the mechanisms of the ageing process.
It is devoted to the development of care, research and teaching in the field of cancer and ageing.
FHU-OncoAge brings together more than 70 clinical and research teams of the University Hospitals (CHU) of Nice and Lyon (HCL), the Comprehensive Cancer Center Antoine Lacassagne, the Children’s Hospital Fondation Lenval, the members of Aviesan and the University of Côte d’Azur (UCA).
This initiative is joined by physicians and scientists from the Comprehensive Cancer Center Léon Bérard (Lyon) and the Institute Gustave Roussy (Villejuif), the Institute for Research on Cancer and Ageing of Nice (IRCAN), the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology (IPMC), the Institute of Development Biology (IBV), the Research Center C3M, the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Molecular PhysioMedicine Laboratory (LP2M), the National Institute of biomedical Research and human Health (INSERM), the National Institute for Computer science and applied mathematics (INRIA), the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Nice University, and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
Our goals:
- Developing initiatives and projects to improve the quality of healthcare for the elderly and to set up
innovative research and education programs in the field of ageing and cancer.
- Giving new impetus to basic research and strengthening links with translational and clinical research.
- Improving patient management by optimizing relationships between hospitals, universities and research
organizations.
