The ‘1 Million Hours’ pledge has been created by organisations within the legal industry committed to collaboration for the purpose of stopping climate change and biodiversity loss. We are seeking to raise one million hours of pledged time from legal sector organisations which can be used to work on projects and initiatives which share the purpose.
Addressing the climate crisis requires unprecedented levels of collaboration across the whole of society. This includes the legal sector where organisations are already collaborating on climate change-related projects.
The ‘1 Million Hours’ pledge builds on these foundations and seeks to pool the entire industry’s intellectual capital to work on a growing number of projects which share the purpose of stopping climate change and biodiversity loss.
Donations of time are welcome from all organisations in the legal sector - and not just from lawyers. We welcome commitments for all personnel within in-house legal teams, law firms, academia, law companies, legal tech providers, industry marketing and PR agencies, and all other facets of the industry.
To increase our collective impact, we are establishing the ‘1 Million Hours’ digital platform. Through this, NGOs, academic institutions, governmental bodies, charities, international bodies, and other organisations which require legal sector support can showcase their projects and connect donors of hours with projects.
